the critique continues

Continuing with my peevish rants and harangues directed toward the arena of big boobs, today my concern is less with the blogosphere as it has been in the previous days, and instead with Thumbnail Gallery Posts (TGP) and their marketing schemes.

TGPs at their core make a fair amount of sense. As a webmaster and daily surfer, I’m always on the hunt for interesting content or big tit scene releases. TGPs could theoretically provide users with new and breaking content. They’re a quick visual hook of what’s on offer, and could swiftly cut through the chase and direct surfers where they want to go: to see tits as big as your head, or at the very least more than a handful!

Now I’ve been surfing for a long time, and looking at big boobs for even longer, and remember well back to over a decade ago when TGPs really broke through, and some of them actually did what I described above, and satisfied users’ salivations for big juggs.

However ethics in the interest of surfers are rarely the modus operandi of adult webmasters. Unfortunate but true.

I understand that no matter which way you flip it, this is hard work. Looking at hundreds of pairs of breasts everyday can be fun, but looking at hundreds upon hundreds of lines of code, and managing accounts, logins, banners, and gigabytes upon growing gigabytes of content can get mind-numbing. I can see how a TGP script might ease that process, and tie-in with a larger website or alongside a blog to help draw surfers in and build a fanbase. But when a TGP merely sends me to another TGP to another TGP to another TGP, and I see my computer’s CPU and RAM resources skyrocket, I’m sick of it.

Here’s what I mean:

Looks great, right? Lots of massive mammaries, lots of foot-long cleavage, lots of heavy hangers. My mouse would be clicking like crazy, for sure! But imagine instead scrolling up and down – as I’m positive you just did! No, none of them link anywhere! – and for every thumbnail you found intriguing or potentially containing some jerk-off material, instead you are directed to another TGP with the same thumbnails:

or worse, spot three matching pairs of tits:

In one instance, not looking at the status bar of my browser to see where a link would send me, I was able to delve seven TGPs deep! Never once actually finding content related to any of the thumbs I found myself clicking. Seven!

Eventually becoming fed-up with being taken advantage of, and my machine getting hijacked, I started wondering if signing up myself might reveal more of the inner-workings of these TGPs and their methods of garnering and sharing traffic. Sure enough I found a mere handful of companies running over a dozen niche (mostly boob, with a fair amount of erotica thrown in) TGPs, including one company running multiple boob TGPs (thus the above thumbnail sharing explained). Some of them had quite strict rules for applying, and even acknowledged “skimming” users and misleading them on a path of clicking through continuously to other TGPs which I found out thanks to a quick wikipedia search is called the “circle jerk TGP“.

I’ll be honest that I am interested in building up such traffic. Nearing my 100th post on this blog, I’m hoping to expand soon and add some new features and develop this site into a space that I myself would feel satisfied with as a surfer, and to stake a real claim to and applaud my own fetishisms, namely boobs!! And I know every adult-oriented site looks to make a little money and cover its own expenses (which do add up). But I would hope to go about it all a little different, and employ a different standard (which I hope is why I’m listed so highly and rated so well at blog lists like Twisted Blogs or the Adult Blog Directory), and wonder why surfers continually put up with mis-treatment? (And perhaps this is why blogs have been such a hit the last few years, and blog lists a more appropriate way to network?)

Then again, I guess that’s why they call it a fetish!

The European Cup – Euro 2008 – has been underway for over a week now, involving some intense competition on the pitch with some classic powerhouses and a few unexpected Davids of sorts. Germany have always been a powerhouse, especially at the international level. I have a massive vinyl record (LP) collection. I maintain a penny jar. I don’t use an alarm clock (I wake up on time!). I hate broken umbrellas! I like boobs when they’re visibly asymmetrical or one larger than the other. I walk at least 5 miles/day.

(these blogging games I don’t normally play nor like, but looking through Smoothie’s links and the links that linked to him, I actually found a blog or two I like, and helps promote our awareness of each other, so it works!)

update – hot and cold!

a rather quick update: it’s bloody hot outside! that said, I’ve been trying to enjoy this first round of heat waves, and thus the lack of updates. i’m cataloging a lot of older content and hoping to expand this blog into something more in the near-future. in the meantime go chill out:
